    19 Feb 2016IBrowse 2.4, AmiSSL 3.6 and the POODLE attack

    I'm sure you are all well aware that many secure websites are normally not reachable with IBrowse 2.4 any longer, due to servers shutting off SSLv2 and SSLv3 connections due to the POODLE attack. However, there is a solution...

    This is delayed advice, as I have only just realised it was possible: contrary to the previous news item, you should enable both "SSLv2 support" and "SSLv3 support" on the "Security" page of the IBrowse preferences. You must then also enter the following command in a shell:

    setenv save AmiSSL/SSL_CLIENT_VERSION tls1

    This will force any most applications that use AmiSSL, including IBrowse, to disable both SSLv2 and SSLv3, and use more secure TLSv1 connections instead.

    This issue will be properly addressed in IBrowse 2.5 and a new version of AmiSSL.

    Ciao, sono italiano come ben vedi. Ci siamo conosciuti personalmente un po di anni fa ad un Pianeta Amiga con Enrico, Max, Nicola, ecc. non ricordo se c'eri anche tu alla cena, c'erano anche i ragazzi di amigakit. Un po mi aiuto con google ed un po rispolvero il mio francese imparato a scuola molti molti anni fa. Da un po di mesi ho un A1X1k ed ora sto cercando di riavvicinarmi a Linux visto il fermento che c'é da parte di A-Eon.

    forum est vraiment génial. Je ne trouve rien d'autre que de bonne nouvelle et de
    partage intéressant ici. J'ai comme même bien fait de m'inscrire. Si je  savais que l'on peut s'enrichir autant sur ce
    forum, j'aurais dû m'y inscrire dès sa création.

    To get the bad news out of the way first, IBrowse 2.5 isn't available yet, but should be later in 2019. We are working hard on finalising things for release, including making keys available for purchase again, to coincide with the 2.5 release. Originally, IBrowse 2.5 was supposed to mainly be the OS4 port of IBrowse 2.4, but obviously many years have since passed and many other changes have been made.
