Hello dear Huno,

Unfortunely i doesn't speak French so pardon me if i write in english here
Yes it's true that the performance of the new driver are very bad for now, after the public release users start a long series of benchmarkd from where later it started a public discussion

http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum/viewt opic.php?forum=11&topic_id=6899&order=

i'm not into any techicnal detail but maybe one of the problem is related our very poor implementation of MiniGL, in a thread of our italian forum m3x suggested the idea of rewriting the whole stuff from scratch, however as you can imagine it will be a very complex work to do, so probably no one will do it expecially when a modern implementation is planned in the form of Mesa/Gallium .... of course even this is the same blablabla considering that again no one know when this modern implementation will be released ... with AmigaOS4.2 maybe ? Ok but OS4.2 will be released when ?

So as you see all the story is a bit boring, wait and wait and no one will never know if the final results will be good or bad

Also still another consideration, MorphOS 3D (that we used for comparision) have a proper support for the hardware TCL while we have nothing in compare, maybe just maybe implement this can increase our performance a bit and it will be a less job to do comparing to rewrite all the stuff ... it might be a temporaly solution to have some speedup until we wait for Mesa/Gallium ... but again it's a work that someone should do.

The good news is that they are still working on, according to some internal benchmark the next 1.9 appear to be a bit faster, ok not a revolution of course but just a bit more decent .. of course we will see when it will be released

Good news about your next Quake 2 project, crossing finger for it as for the others ... particularry i was eagerly awaiting for your newest release of FinalBurn, from the latest video you posted nearly 3 months ago it seemed virtually complete, I was really excited to be able to try it and definitely i'm not the only one

So any news about it ?

Lately the FinalBurn project is indeed very active, in the latest 2 versions they also include the SMS support that means tons of new games ... pretty awesome

Aniway welcome back and thanks for all !
